Restorative Yoga

What is Restorative Yoga?

Restorative yoga is a gentle, therapeutic style of yoga designed to promote deep relaxation and healing. Unlike more active forms of yoga that involve flowing sequences and physical exertion, restorative yoga focuses on slowing down, fully relaxing, and rejuvenating the body and mind. The practice involves using props like blankets, bolsters and blocks, to support the body in various passive poses, often held for an extended period (usually 5-20 minutes per pose). The goal is to allow the body to release tension and enter a state of deep rest and restoration.
